Terms of use

You need a personal account to post, comment, like or follow. Keep your login details private: you are responsible for what happens on your account. Don't share, sell or transfer your account, and don't create accounts to get around a suspension.

Posting is available to creator accounts. The information you give us, including your name and handle, must be accurate and can't be used to pass yourself off as someone else.

You keep ownership of the photos, videos and text you post. By posting, you give Cherry a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute that content on Cherry and to show it when we promote Cherry (for example, a preview when someone shares a link). The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we need to keep for legal reasons or to handle a report.

You can only post content you created yourself or have permission to use. When you upload, you confirm that you own or have a license for everything in the post, including music and audio.

The following content is not allowed on Cherry. It can't be posted, and it can't earn gifts:

• Adult content: nudity, sexually explicit content or sexual acts, and content meant to sexually arouse.
• Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or proprietary rights, such as trademarks, designs or brand assets you have no right to use.
• Copyright infringement, including songs, leaked or unreleased music, film and TV clips, and photos or videos taken from other creators.
• Violent extremism: content that supports, praises or recruits for terrorist or violent extremist groups, or promotes violence against people.
• Hate speech: attacks, slurs or dehumanizing content aimed at people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or serious disease.
• Harassment, bullying, threats, or sharing someone's private information.
• Anything that sexualizes, endangers or exploits minors. We remove it and may report it to law enforcement.
• Fraud, scams, spam, fake engagement, or asking people for gifts under false pretenses.
• Impersonating another person, creator or brand.
• Anything else that is illegal where you live or where it is shown.

You need the rights to every part of your post: the music and sounds, the footage and the images. Most popular songs are owned by record labels and publishers. Being able to add a song on another app doesn't mean you can use it on Cherry, because those licenses usually only cover that app.

Safe options for audio:

• Your own original audio, like your voice or sounds you recorded.
• Royalty-free or stock music whose license allows commercial use on social platforms. Keep a copy of the license in case we ask for it.
• No music at all.

Posts with copyrighted songs you don't have a license for will be removed and can't receive gifts, and your account may get a strike.

Every photo and video is checked automatically for sexual and violent content when it is uploaded. For videos we check frames taken from across the clip.

• If a post clearly breaks these rules, it is rejected and never published.
• If the result isn't clear, the post is held for review by our team and only appears once it is approved.
• Everything else is published.

Automated checks don't catch everything, so we also review content that people report. Content that is removed or waiting for review can't receive gifts.

Anyone can report a post or an account from the app, with or without an account. You can report sexual content, violence, hate, harassment, copyright, impersonation, spam or anything else that breaks these terms.

If you own the rights to a work (or represent the owner) and it is being used on Cherry without permission, send us a formal notice through our copyright page or by email to copyright@cherry.fashion.

Our team reviews every report. If the content breaks these terms we remove it, stop gifts on it, and may add a strike to the account that posted it.

If your content was removed after a copyright notice and you believe it was a mistake, or that you have permission to use the material, email copyright@cherry.fashion with the link to the post, why you think the removal was wrong, and your contact details. We may share your counter-notice with the person who sent the original notice.

When we remove content for breaking these terms, the account may get a strike.

• 1 strike: a warning.
• 2 active strikes: gifts are paused on the account.
• 3 active strikes: the account is suspended.

A strike stops counting 12 months after it was given. A suspension stays in place until our team lifts it. Suspended accounts can't post, comment or receive gifts, and their content is removed from feeds.

For serious violations, such as content that sexualizes minors, violent extremism or fraud, we can suspend an account right away without earlier strikes.

Gifts are payments that fans send to creators to support their work. You can send one with or without an account. Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe Connect.

To receive gifts, a creator must finish Stripe's onboarding, which includes verifying her identity and adding a bank account. Creators also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Cherry keeps a 10% platform fee from each gift, and the rest goes to the creator's Stripe account. Creators are responsible for any taxes on what they receive.

A gift is voluntary. It doesn't buy content, access, messages or any other goods or services, and creators can't offer anything in exchange for one. Gifts are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund or the payment was fraudulent or unauthorized.

We can hold, cancel or reverse gifts tied to content we removed, to fraud or to a chargeback, and we pause gifts on accounts as described in repeat violations.

You can stop using Cherry at any time and delete your account from Settings. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms, that put other people at risk, or when the law requires it. Where it's appropriate we'll tell you why.

We may update these terms as Cherry changes or when the law requires it. If a change is significant we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using Cherry after that means you accept the updated terms.
